The City of Mason has a great opportunity for a Full-time Utilities Operator under the general supervision of the Utilities Foreman.  A Utility Operator will be tasked with operating equipment, sampling, maintenance, and general operator of the water, wastewater, stormwater, collection system, and distribution system daily. Performs wastewater and/or drinking water sampling and laboratory analyses to ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and Local regulations and documents a variety of data for reports and records. Performs other duties needed for the effective, efficient , and safe operation of the Utilities Department. Serves on an on-call basis to handle emergency situations. Candidate Requirements: High School Education or G.E.D. equivalent a Valid Michigan Driver’s License; knowledge of safety procedures and precautions of a utility department an ability to obtain any required/recommended EGLE water/wastewater/stormwater licenses; and knowledge of the procedures and practices of laboratory safety; the ability in maintaining reports.
