Laborer

The City of Mason has a great opportunity for a Full-time Laborer position. This position provides manual labor for the Public Works Department (DPW). This position is under the general supervision of the Cemetery, Parks and Forestry (CPF)Foreman or the DPW Foreman as assigned. The Laborer will operate City of Mason equipment and also serve on an on-call basis to handle emergency situations that may occasionally arise. The Laborer will perform a variety of tasks involving general construction, maintenance, and repair activities in connection with ground, building, and equipment maintenance.

Candidate Requirements:

High School Education or G.E.D. equivalent

Class A-CDL or the ability to obtain a valid Class A endorsement and Tanker endorsement within one (1) year of date of hire

General knowledge of street, water, and sewer construction

Reasonable experience in performing general maintenance, construction, repair or related activities

Reasonable knowledge of custodial and grounds maintenance activities, including those with use of hand tools, automotive, and power-driven equipment the ability to perform heavy manual labor with general mechanic knowledge for extended periods of time.
